Research
Kyle Gordon Cayouette is a researcher and PhD Student in the Department of Law and Legal Studies at carleton University. Their research focus on the intersection of public health and law with a focus on modes of governance and regulation. Their current research critically examines public health campaigns as instruments of law-making, with a particular interest in their impact on LGBTQ2+ communities. This interdisciplinary work bridges social sciences and humanities, drawing from public health, sociology, political science, law and cultural studies. Through their research, Kyle aims to uncover the power of discursive governance and its implications in society, norms, and morals, contributing to the broader fields of Health Humanities and Critical Public Health.
With a strong foundation in interdisciplinary research and a commitment to social justice, Kyle continues to explore the ways in which public health policies shape society and norms, advocating for more inclusive and equitable approaches in health governance.
